INTRODUCTION
Maleic Resin is irregular transparent solid which is the products of esterification by pentaerythrite and adducts of rosin and maleic anhydride. Maleic resin provides performance advantages in overprint varnishes. They dry fast and are lighter in color than phenolic resins. It is easy compatible with various solvents including coal tar oil, ester, vegetable oil and turpentine oil.
